Tea leaves have been used for thousands of years in mainland China and later all over the world as a refreshing drink. However the word tea has a very diverse meaning and basically it means an extract of flowers, leaves or seeds.
Tea is usually prepared by pouring hot water over the leaves or other plant parts so that the extracts are obtained and then consumed.
In recent times a lot of herbal teas are available in the market and is recommended in a variety of diseases. One such herbal tea is Feiyan, which is prepared from a number of Chinese herbs. The herbal tea is recommended for overweight people. The tea contains a number of anti-oxidants and other important ingredients which helps to fast track the body’s metabolism and help to burn calories faster. Herbal teas have been known worldwide as a very good weight reducer and also appetite suppressant.
Herbal treatments are being researched in a number of chronic and fatal diseases and extremely good results are being obtained. The humble Tea which most of us drink daily has been found to be loaded with benefits. Green tea contains numerous anti-oxidants, flavonoids and other important components which not only improves the defenses of the body but also tackle the menace of free radicals which have been indicted in almost all major diseases like cancer, arthritis liver disorders etc.
Tea is also a very good de-toxifier of the body and helps to flush out the toxins in the body which are formed during the normal course of metabolism in the body. One of the biggest advantages of herbal preparations is, it maintains the Acid- Base balance in the body and helps to prevent acidosis. Acidosis causes a number of serious ailments in the body and affects almost all the organs of the body much akin to Diabetes. Continuing this series of herbal teas, I will dwell upon some other benefits which can be accrued by consuming herbal tea in my next blog post.
